‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. For the former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:4 We the members of Mensah Sarbah Hall who shared our university years with Mrs. Cecilia Johnson from 1968 to 1971 pay this heart-felt tribute to a dear friend, colleague and sister. Those years were filled with youthful energy, dreams and the pursuit of purpose. Cecilia stood out among us for her warmth, courage and unwavering sense of justice. She was vibrant, disciplined and deeply committed to the welfare of others. Traits that defined her throughout her life. After graduation Cecilia carried the same passion and strength into public service, distinguishing herself as a dedicated political leader who served her nation with humility and integrity. Her leadership reflected the same compassion and fairness we witnessed during our university days. We remember the laughter we shared in Mensah Sarbah Hall, the late-night discussions about life and the sisterly bond that time could never erase. Cecilia’s legacy continues to inspire us. We thank God for the privilege of having known her. Though she is no longer with us her memory will forever remain in our hearts. Farewell dear Cecilia, your Sarbah hall family, Gloria, Emelia, Mary, Gladys, Anna and Naana will forever cherish you in our hearts. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
